Festival Checklist

Festival Checklist

It's that time of the year where we dust off our wellies and sunglasses and dust glitter onto our faces, hair and pretty much everywhere this year! I love everything about festivals, the excitement leading up to it, planning the outfit(s), makeup and hair... just all of it!

In all the excitement we can forget so many things, it's happened enough times for me to have learnt my lesson and you could say I have when it comes to being more organised but there's still that one thing I forget to bring so while I have enough time on my hands to make sure I don't forget a thing I thought I'd share my checklist with you guys so you don't forget anything either!

Before Festival

#1. Travel Arrangements

Before you even leave for the festival make sure you know how you're getting there and how you are getting home. Planning this ahead is well worth it because you don't want to spend the whole time worrying about how you're going to get home (especially if you aren't completely sober)

#2. Outfit, Makeup & Hair

The most important part, is looking the part. Am I right? I'm soooo organised when it comes to what I'm wearing, how I'm doing my hair and how I'm going to do my makeup months before because I find it's the most fun thing to organise. I mean any excuse to buy a whole new outfit and new makeup to experiment with! This takes a lot of prep though and a lot of returning and waiting for parcels, well if you're anything like me and love online shopping!

Festival Day

#1. Ticket

If you forget your ticket then... I'm not even lying, I would probably be the one person to forget to bring their ticket and have to do the walk of shame all the way home hating myself and crying whilst checking regularly at my friends snapchat stories so I can see how much fun there having without me to make me feel worse.. do you want to be that person? DON'T FORGET YOUR TICKET.

#2. ID/Back Up Money

I bring a form of ID everywhere with me mainly because I look like I'm 15 years old and there has been plenty of occasions I haven't thought I'd need my ID and I've been so pissed with myself for forgetting it, it happens to everyone but on this occasion you're not going to forget it and dampen your mood because you've read this post and I've got you covered! I would also advise to bring back up money with you too because you can estimate how much you'll need but you can never know for sure so either you bring to little or too much but I'd way rather have too much. I would definitely recommend a bum bag (fanny pack) for festivals instead of a purse because they are so much safer!

#3. Sun Cream/After Sun

I could have listed this one under toiletries but as important as the other ones are suncream is the most important thing when you're spending hours in the sun with protection from it, it causes so much damage to your skin when all it takes in 2 minutes to just slap some on, it's not worth the sunburn and long term skin damage - I've been there, done that and had the red nose to prove it, it's not pretty.

#4. Toiletries

  • Deodorant
  • Perfume
  • Tampons/Sanitary Towels
  • Wet Wipes
  • Antibacterial Gel
  • Toilet Roll (Tissues)
  • Toothbrush & Toothpaste (if you're camping)
  • Plasters
  • Insect Repellent

#5. Portable Charger

Imagine, your taking photos all day, snapping away and then it's time for your favourite act to come on and your phone...dies. How f*cking annoying is that! I always bring a portable charger everywhere with me in case of emergencies and it has nothing to do with the fact I drain my battery playing games on my phone, definitely not. I love capturing moments because once they pass there's no going back but don't forget to live in the moment, don't just document it.

#6. Snacks - Refillable Water Bottle

One of the most important things in my opinion is food and drink, if I don't eat when I'm hungry then I'm a moody bitch and my day is ruined and how can I be this hungry?!! but seriously, make sure you have snacks for when you get hungry, I'm sure they'll be plenty of places to grab some food but just in case it's miles from where your standing bring a snack for the journey to give you energy. I would also always carry a water bottle you can refill so you stay hydrated.

#7. Medication

Okay, I lied when I said food and drink is one of the most important things to bring with you. Medication is. I suffer with asthma so forgetting my pump would scare the life out of me and I probably wouldn't be able to relax and enjoy myself because it would niggle in the back of my mind and if I found myself in a position where I really needed it and no-one would be able to assist me ASAP, who knows what the outcome would be! Long story short, just don't forget prescribed medication and painkillers for the inevitable headache.

#8. A Change of clothes/Waterproofs/ Jumpers & Blankets if it gets cold

Whether you're camping out for the night or it's a day trip always try and bring a spare change of clothes or at least warmer/cooler clothes because especially if the festival is in the UK the weather is unpredictable, let me tell ya! I would make sure you have warmer clothes for the evening especially if you've been in the hot sun all day, you're going to feel the cold when the sun disappears, bring waterproofs incase it pisses it down and you can bring blankets too! The cosier the better, right?

#9. Contraception

I wrote this one and then kind of stared at it for ages thinking.. nah, would you? could you? ah fuck it, it happens and that not just a quote, it does. That's not to say you'll pull your trousers down in the middle of a field, which I hope you wouldn't because no-one wants to see that, you can take that somewhere else please but I just think if you're going to be organised for the festival you might as well go the extra mile and be extra precautious!

#10. Your fine self

Most importantly, leaving the best til last.. bring yo fine self and have an amazing time, live in the moment, let the music take over, forget all your worries and have an amazing time knowing you haven't forgotten a thing!
